Here in the St. Louis Area, we have 4 not-too-obscure plants that are in the “Sumac” family:

  • Rhus aromatica (Fragrant Sumac) [CC4]
  • Rhus copallinum  (Winged Sumac) [CC2]
  • Rhus glabra  (Smooth Sumac) [CC1]
  • Toxicodentron radicans  (Poison Ivy) [CC1]
